Staff portrait session.
Studio session for 21 people included hair and makeup artist, white wardrobe theme, antique chair prop — and a custom-painted backdrop. The mood on set was festive and everyone was so supportive of each other, which made for a very fun shoot!
Milestone Birthday portrait session.
This studio session included a hair and makeup artist, multiple wardrobe changes and a variety of backgrounds. Laura was so happy to be able to showcase some of her favorite vintage clothes and significant accessories. She's a collector of beautiful things and now has her own portraits to add to her collection.

The challenge on this shoot was to quickly establish trust, sometimes overcoming language barriers, in order to create intimate, revealing portraits.
Studio beauty session with a vintage vibe.
This multi-talented dancer, choreographer, stage director, teacher, and actor brought some lovely vintage lingerie to create these timeless portraits in our Seattle studio. (The cute sundress was an added bonus —and ensured she could give prints to her family!)
Senior Photo Session.
Shot on location in Ballard and vicinity, this was a casual, no-fuss shoot. We opted to go without a stylist or assistant and emphasized an on-the-go, street vibe. Proof that not all portrait sessions need to be all stress for the client.
Studio beauty and personal branding session.
Kayte’s natural light session included images for social media profiles and promotional materials for her growing jewelry business. We also managed to capture some lovely heirloom portraits for her husband and family.

Milestone Birthday Portrait Session.
Laura celebrated a milestone birthday with us and turned her portrait session into a friends and family shoot! Not only was she able to bring in her husband and son, she also brought her mom and her best friend from high school.
But the highlight of the shoot was her beautiful moment she was able to share with her mother. Read about it by clicking Laura’s testimonial
Expansive 36-person group photo.
What began as “Vanity Fair” style group portrait grew into an artistic and technical challenge as the project expanded to include 36 high-profile Seattle VIPs!
We shot at three different locations, on multiple dates, using a “roaming” technique that ensured each person was captured in their best pose and lighting. As word of this shoot spread amongst the charitable committee, more wanted to participate. So even after final edits were done, the image was “spread apart” digitally TWICE, before the final image of 36 was completed.
And it was all for a great cause! It Starts with Yes: Campaign for Seattle Children's met its goal of raising over ONE BILLION dollars! If you look closely, you'll find representatives of the Nordstrom and Boeing families, Costco co-founders, NBA great Lenny Wilkens, Former Mayor Rice, Jean Enersen, and the Hanuers, to name a few.
Natural light. Studio shoot with mother and daughters.
It often comes through in pictures how much mothers and daughters look alike, and how close their bond can be. It’s these moments we strive to capture and hold onto with portraiture.
We received this incredible testimonial from Laura after her shoot at Bernstein Portrait.
Our friend and marketing strategy genius Elizabeth, was kind enough to sit for some lovely studio portraits. Normally found working behind the scenes of a photoshoot, Elizabeth was able step out of the shadows and bring her elegant beauty to our shoot.
Studio shoot. Natural light. Professional Hair and Makeup.
Sometimes a little surprise will liven up the kids on a shoot!
For this kiddo portrait session, I gathered leaves outside the studio and had them hidden behind the seamless. Then, at just the right moment, my assistant dropped them over the top of the scene. These kids knew exactly what to do next and had a great time tossing and posing with leaves. This is my favorite capture from that shoot!
